Summer 2017 Trends in Menswear: 5 Tips To Up Your Summer Fashion Game

Compared to women's, men's fashion is more static. While women are bombarded with new trends each and every season, men rarely get to spice up their look with off-the-catwalk trends without looking grotesque or plain foolish.

Men have gotten so tired of the same boring look, we are ready to jump into rompers! That should tell you something.

1. Get the urban adventurer look

Camo printed jackets were spotted in Givenchy, Valentino and Dries Van Noten SS17 collections. Wear a camo utility jacket on cool summer evenings to toughen up your city casual look and add an edgy, adventurous vibe to it.

2. Let your t-shirt speak

Fashion has always been a means of communication and expressing your opinions. A statement text printed t-shirt will give your casual looks an on-trend feel while getting across a message, asking probing questions or even stating your political views.

3. Opt for trending colors

When choosing the color palette for your summer wardrobe, consider green, yellow, pale pink or nude.

Greenery, which is a yellow-green shade associated with the first days of spring, is the color of 2017 as declared by the Pantone Color Institute.

Give the millennial pink trend a nod by incorporating pale or peach pink shades into your summer wardrobe.

4. Add sportswear touches

An ongoing trend, sportswear is still present on the catwalks, but for SS17 designers have shifted away from the full-on sporty look in favor of adding subtler sporting touches, such as wearing a backpack (spotted in SS17 collections of Louis Vuitton, Prada, Givenchy), tying a jacket round the waist (AMI, Sacai, J.W.Anderson) or accessorizing with a baseball cap (A.P.C., Balenciaga, Acne Studios).

5. Say no to onesies

An all-in-one (as seen at Valentino, Louis Vuitton, Junya Watanabe) may be a great uniform for a warehouse workman, but it's not as practical in a summer wardrobe of a modern, professional man. An even more dreadful trend, a male romper is now a thing... A thing that should never find itself in your wardrobe... unless you're in your teens, when questionable fashion choices are an essential part of growing up, or have the looks and confidence of James Bond (even then, save the romper for the beach).
